VE Day Poster Competition Winners 2025

Today, on the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, we pause to remember the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all who served during the Second World War!
VE Day marked the end of war in Europe, but for many, it came at great personal cost. We want to honour those who fought, those who fell, and those who returned to rebuild the world we live in today!
As part of our commemorations, the trust has been inspired by the creativity and care shown by the younger generation in commemorating VE Day via our annual Poster Competition. Today, we’re thrilled to announce our winners!

KS3&4

Winner – Tommy Gilmour From Wymondham High Academy (Norfolk) – An excellent illustration of our combined services and the sacrifice they paid throughout WW2.

Runner up (Very highly commended) – Muhammad-Usmaan from King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School – A fantastic silhouette style poster depicting comrades standing together, perhaps looking towards a brighter future with the arrival of VE day.

KS2

Winner – Camille from Lady Eleanor Holles – A very well drawn map of Europe with key illustrations of key figures, people uniting and peace!

Runner up (Very highly commended) – Georgia – A vibrant poster embodying our Great British patriotism and representation of our combined services.

These posters are an illustrative reminder that remembrance lives on through the generations and it’s our responsibility to keep their sacrifices in our minds.
Thank you to all who took part — and thank you to our Veterans!
