John Hawkins a Korean veteran wishes to sincerely thank everyone for the great efforts to find his lost/stolen medals. This interesting and sought after group of medals mysteriously went missing after the event following the service held on the 6th June this year at the Normandy Veterans Memorial at the NMA Alrewas. John attended with a group from the Southend veterans. The medals were despatched to John by post with no note or indication of the identification of the sender, the package had a Tamworth post mark.
This is a great result and it should be noted that the medal collecting and dealing fraternity is comparatively small and there is a good network advising dealers and collectors of stolen or lost medals which are easily identified by those who buy, sell or collect medals, especially those of special interest.
